According to reports shared and gathered by Aurora Adopt-a-Pet, there is still a dark brown dog -- Aussie or Border Collie -- on the run in Aurora.  Volunteers state the animal has been loose since at least Dec.

Central City’s Invitational featured plenty of high stakes and heavy-hitting matches.  The Huskies were right in the thick of it with four wrestlers in the finals, two of those winners and a fourth place effort at the 16-team event Saturday.

The 4R Board took time during Monday’s meeting to reaffirm the district’s Safe Return to School (COVID) plan -- a topic at the forefront of many minds in the county as the case count spikes again to start 2022.
Jack Allen gave the crowd a show to finish out Aurora’s dual with Columbus Lakeview, getting a pinfall victory over Lakeview’s Landon Ternus in what was a ranked matchup at 220.

For the second time in as many duals, Jack Allen was in the finale spot and stole the show.  The Aurora junior scrambled for a third-period pinfall victory as part of Aurora’s dual matchup at Columbus Lakeview Thursday, an event the Vikings won 40-34.

Aurora’s girls wrestling team finished off the 2021 calendar year in style.  The Lady Huskies picked up its second dual win in as many weeks, defeating Columbus Lakeview 36-24 Thursday.
Aurora’s 7-6 win over York in the postseason was selected as the top game from the area in 2021.

What a year.  We covered games from Omaha to Scottsbluff in 2021, doing so with plenty of high stakes moments big enough to lose your backwards hat.  I thought it would be fun to keep track of how many games I went to in 2021, but after one week I lost count.

Aurora went into its final contest before the holiday break at Norris with nothing to lose and everything to gain. It was the exact opposite for Class B No. 2 Norris.  The Lady Huskies played like it, too.
