Sutter resigns 4R position

Though a handful of topics were covered at Monday evening’s 4R board meeting, none came with a heavier heart than the announcement of Aurora Special Education Director and Early Childhood Coordinator Jeff Sutter’s resignation.

Columbarium to be constructed by May

by Jacob Courtney  Aurora residents will soon have a new space for their final resting place in the cemetery on the outskirts of town.  Construction workers are laying the groundwork and foundations for a series of four columbariums at the south side of the Aurora cemetery this week.

Lady Huskies end season with close loss to AC

Aurora girls basketball coach Kelly Boshart described the Lady Huskies’ season on the hardwood with two words -- tough and heart.  Tough because of the schedule, noting that her team was tough, too.  Yet, Aurora’s season came to an end Feb.

Fire fueled by dry weather conditions

by Jacob Courtney  Aurora firefighters extinguished a grass fire at 10th and S roads just south of the city at around noon March 2.  Aurora Fire Chief Tom Cox reported that the a pivot  caused the fire that burned up to 40 acres of a cornfield.

Shultz ready to start new chapter after 33 years of teaching

Taking a bow after 33 years in education, Aurora Elementary School special education teacher Luey Shultz is only a few months away from retiring from a profession that has had a hold of her heart since a very early age.
