Anticipation, angst rise as musical curtain time draws near

As opening night of the musical draws closer and closer my excitement continues to grow. But, of course, my anxiety is starting to grow as well. This happened with Newsies too. We were a couple weeks out from having our first audience, and everything felt like a mess.

Smiles, tears and fears conquered

Youth from across Hamilton County and beyond gathered over the weekend for a youth wrestling tournament. The wrestling mats saw tears, fears and, most importantly, plenty of smiles.

Huskies fall short in district final loss to Sidney

The Huskies have been consistent since its last state tournament appearance in 2019. The issue is, that consistency comes with a red mark.  Aurora came up short in its fourth district final in as many years, losing to Sidney in the C1-6 final 34-31 Feb. 28 played at Cozad.

Fire departments kept busy this week

The Aurora Volunteer Fire Department responded to two fires caused by owners who had burn permits having embers from piles sparking out-of-control fires on Friday afternoon.
