Nebraska Wesleyan added speed and quickness to its lineup Wednesday.  Aurora senior Kaylee Crosby made her college choice official, signing a letter of intent to continue her academic and track and field career at Nebraska Wesleyan.

Hannah Hodman considers herself to be an adrenaline junkie. She loves to compete.  She’s found a way to fuel both of those passions.  The High Plains senior signed an intent to continue her academic career at Hastings College while joining the cheerleading team for the Broncos Jan. 26.

Huskies stumble in tournament rematch with Seward

Seward did it again. For the second time in as many weeks, the Aurora boys basketball team had no answer for the Bluejays as Seward took down the top-seeded Huskies 49-33 in the semifinals of the Central Conference tournament Thursday in Seward’s home gym.

Trio of Lady Huskies win conference gold

Don’t look now but Aurora’s girls wrestlers are peaking at the right time.  During the first-ever Central Conference girls tournament, the Lady Huskies featured three individual champions and a third place effort as a team at Saturday’s event held at Lakeview high school.

Huskies sport seven champs at conference

Aurora's wrestling team pushed 10 wrestlers through the finals in both the boys and girls brackets.  Seven of those won gold.  The Husky boys finished runner-up while the girls team finished third at Saturday's Central Conference meet held at Columbus Lakeview.

Making noise, and history

Aurora's Ayeanna Smith has control over a Minden wrestler Thursday night in front of a big and loud home crowd. The Lady Huskies wrestling team made history by hosting its first-ever meet, winning by the score of 36-30. For more photos and detailed coverage of the meet, see next week's ANR.

Longtime Aurora volleyball coach Lois Hixson has decided to put her clipboard away for good.  Hixson, who has spent the previous 16 seasons as the head coach of the Aurora volleyball team has decided to step away from coaching, the school announced through a press release Thursday.

All three area boys teams have been eliminated from the Crossroads Conference Basketball Tournament in York, with High Plains falling to No. 1 seed Osceola in second-round action Monday while Hampton and Gitlner both lost their openers on Saturday.
