Husky boys finish top five as a team in Class B race

Aurora’s efforts at the state track and field championships featured the highest of highs and the lowest of lows. 
The Huskies earned three state championships, two for Gage Griffith and another for Carsen Staehr, finishing fifth in the Class B team race behind those efforts. 
Aurora coach Gordon Wilson said in an interview after the state meet that the Huskies have a lot to be proud about, regardless of the result.
“We’ve had a lot of things to celebrate this year,” he said. “We’ve had great kids to work with and it’s been fun to watch all our athletes.”
Yet, it wasn’t all hype surrounding the two-day event from Omaha Burke Stadium May 25 and 26. 
One of the more heartbreaking results of the state meet was Caden Carlson’s struggle in the pole vault.
