Huskies start season at Concordia

Gage Griffith’s title defense in the throws is off to a pretty solid start.  The Husky senior set a new meet record in the shot put, throwing out a 56-01.50 while also winning the discus at the Concordia Bulldog track and field challenge Thursday.

Aurora boys soccer team looking for aggressive balance

For the just the third time since 2003, there’s a new champion of the Aurora alumni tournament.
The 31st edition of the annual Bill Kropp and Curly Penner Memorial Alumni Basketball Tournament is set for tipoff Saturday morning with the Class of 2002 still at the top of the mountain.

Corey Hoelck is living the dream. In his own words, he gets to be a kid for a little bit longer.  The Giltner and UNK graduate has spent the past few months in the mountains, lifting weights every day and training for a spot in the National Football League.

Lady Huskies end season with close loss to AC

Aurora girls basketball coach Kelly Boshart described the Lady Huskies’ season on the hardwood with two words -- tough and heart.  Tough because of the schedule, noting that her team was tough, too.  Yet, Aurora’s season came to an end Feb.

The NFL combine was something unlike anything Austin Allen has been through in his athletic lifetime.  Yet, for the Aurora native, it was just another step to reaching the ultimate goal.

Aurora’s season wasn’t totally hanging in the balance in the B-6 subdistrict final Feb. 23. But the Huskies sure played like it.  The Huskies finished the game on a 16-3 run, defeating Crete 56-43 at York to win the B-6 subdistrict and advance to the district finals.
