It was a huge start to the D-2 district track meet for High Plains.
Within the span of two hours, the Storm had punched three tickets to the state meet in tough competition at the D-2 district meet at Osceola. 
By day’s end, the Storm had seven athletes earned a spot at this week’s state track meet in Omaha. 
To begin the morning, Emily Ackerson won the district title in the discus with a throw of 100-11, a new area best mark. 
Not long after, Kenzie Wruble posted a district runner-up spot in the triple jump with a mark of 32-03 to earn a trip to Omaha. 
Trevor Carlstrom picked up a district crown in the boys long jump with a mark of 20-09. 
To round out the morning efforts, Lane Urkoski made it a Storm sweep of the discus events with a win there at 131-09.
