A young High Plains team learned a lot of lessons in its first home contest Friday night.  The Storm held pace for a moment, but not enough went right for High Plains in a 50-26 loss to Central Valley in Clarks.

The Aurora boys cross country team ran against a wide field of teams across multiple classes on Thursday at Concordia University in Seward and went on to have a pair of medalists in Minden Saturday.

The Class C1 No. 1 Aurora Huskies made another statement Friday night.  Behind the efforts of Carlos Collazo, Aurora rushed past C1 No. 4 Boone Central 34-14 at home.  Collazo tallied 256 yards on 17 attempts with four rushing scores while adding a reception TD.

Eva Fahrnbruch couldn't miss.  The Aurora right-handed senior struck out 13 batters, one shy of tying the single game school record in a complete game-winner Tuesday night, an 8-0 win at Centennial.
