Juniors drop double header at Hastings

The Aurora Cooperative Juniors hung tough but was unable to finish the deal in multiple games last week. Aurora dropped a doubleheader at Hastings Thursday night, 12-4 and 12-7 while also falling to Kearney at home, 9-6 June 28.

Pinnacle Bank Seniors storm past Kearney at Mitchell

Things turned around in a big way for the Aurora Pinnacle Bank Post 42 Seniors June 28. Aurora made quick work of Kearney at Mitchell Field, picking up a 17-2 win in three innings for its eighth win of the season.

Pinnacle Bank Seniors drop three of four games

After a big start to the week, things cooled off through the weekend for the Aurora Pinnacle Bank Post 42 Seniors. It all started with a 7-2 win over Central City on the road June 20.

A'ROR'N Days Spike

A new tradition may have taken hold over the weekend as the Aurora volleyball team held a co-ed volleyball tournament Sunday to wrap up the weekend A’ROR’N Days festivities. The adult division featured 12 six-person teams as well as a high school division with four teams.

Hailey Lindburg did not play basketball her eighth grade year and had no intentions of playing in high school, either. With a ton of coaxing and promises made from High Plains girls basketball coach Mack Alspaugh, an introverted Lindburg gave the winter sport a shot -- and the game loved her back.

Carsen Staehr, no matter the sport, carried a quiet confidence about himself or his team. It wasn’t cockiness, it was more so a belief that no matter the circumstance, with all the chips on the table, Staehr would win out. He did. A lot.

Jace Dorsey batted twice in the fifth inning against Twin River, the second of those coming with a sweet after taste.Dorsey capped a five-run fifth inning for the Aurora Cooperative Juniors, hitting a walk-off single to defeat Twin River 12-11.
