Tia Teigre continues to make history for the Aurora wrestling team.  The Aurora foreign exchange student from Norway is the Lady Huskies' first-ever finalist at the NSAA girls state wrestling championships.

A great start to the NSAA state wrestling championships turned the other direction by the end of the evening for High Plains.  The Storm went a perfect 4-for-4 in the opening round of the tournament, but only one would  win their quarterfinal matchup.

Aurora put three wrestlers into Friday night's semifinal round after Thursday's opening rounds of the Class B NSAA state wrestling championships.  Brekyn Papineau, Mack Owens and Aaron Jividen all earned medal positions with their efforts Thursday, each winning a pair of matchups.

High Plains has been battle tested all year long. Those experiences paid off over the weekend.  The Storm punched four tickets to this week’s Class D boys state wrestling tournament with a seventh place effort at the D-2 district meet in Pleasanton.

Kyle Ediger never let the emotions of a game get too high or too low.  In front of a packed house Friday night, though, the Hampton grad, teacher and coach surely had a little extra juice.  It still makes no sense. It’s hard to wrap your head around.

Rylee Olsen isn’t Aurora’s top option from behind the arc. Sometimes, though, the clutch gene outweighs everything else.  The Aurora senior swished a three from the top of the key with 43 seconds left to help the Lady Huskies take down Lexington 42-39 Saturday at home.
