Aurora’s boys soccer team had an eventful two days of soccer to kick off the Central Conference tournament last week.
The No. 8 seeded Huskies entered April 11’s play-in game with No. 9 Seward, picking up a 1-0 win in overtime to earn a date with top-seeded Lexington.
That game didn’t go as well as the Minutemen posted a 6-1 win over the Huskies to dash any upset hopes. Lexington would go on to win the conference tournament played out Monday afternoon.
Aurora coach Madison Farris said the Huskies were down three starters for both of conference tournament games to make it a challenge, but was happy with how the team persevered.
“We mixed up our lineup and saw several guys step up as both starters and subs to give us more minutes than they have all year,” Farris said. “It was a good experience for guys to play a little out of position.”
