Yoonsang Nam gets full rural experience at AHS

Corn.  Corn and the color red were the first things South Korean exchange student Yoonsang Nam noticed when he traveled from Seoul to Grand Island last fall. This 16-year-old student has joined Maile Ilac-Boeder and John Boeder for the 2021-22 school year in Aurora.

My job is relatively easy – be in the right place at the right time.  I was anything but Monday.  Gage Griffith became Aurora’s most prolific thrower Monday at the Central Nebraska Track Championships, besting school records in the discus and shot put.

Huskies feature highs, lows of conference

Aurora’s boys soccer team had an eventful two days of soccer to kick off the Central Conference tournament last week.  The No. 8 seeded Huskies entered April 11’s play-in game with No. 9 Seward, picking up a 1-0 win in overtime to earn a date with top-seeded Lexington.

Aurora’s lineup had a youthful feel to it at the treacherous York Invite last week.  With its top three golfers out with a different activity, the Huskies took three freshmen to the competitive event at the York Country Club April 12, all playing the course within 11 strokes of one another.

Lady Huskies finish 4th at conference

Things never really bounced Aurora’s way Monday.  Aurora’s girls soccer team battled to a pair of losses to Lexington and Columbus Lakeview, rounding out the Central Conference tournament played at Northwest’s facility.
