Aurora’s lineup had a youthful feel to it at the treacherous York Invite last week.
With its top three golfers out with a different activity, the Huskies took three freshmen to the competitive event at the York Country Club April 12, all playing the course within 11 strokes of one another.
The York Invite was originally slated to take place Thursday, but unfavorable weather conditions forced officials to move the event up by two days.
That decision greatly affected the Huskies, who were without Cauy Walters, Tate Nachtigal and Drew Knust. The trio were at a state leadership conference in Lincoln.
Aurora coach Craig Badura made the best of an interesting situation, taking the next best available golfers and for some, their first varsity experience.
