Lady Huskies finish 4th at conference
Things never really bounced Aurora’s way Monday.
Aurora’s girls soccer team battled to a pair of losses to Lexington and Columbus Lakeview, rounding out the Central Conference tournament played at Northwest’s facility.
The GINW girls won the tournament, defeating Lexington while Lakeview beat Aurora 3-1 in the third place game.
According to Aurora coach Micayla Dunn, the overriding aspect in both of the Lady Huskies’ defeats Monday was a lack of all-out soccer.
“Today we lacked urgency and effort overall. When you play on your heels, it’s tough to get anything going offensively,” Dunn explained.
It looked like Aurora may score first against Lakeview in the third place game as the Lady Huskies had more than one chance to boot in off an Ellie Hutsell corner kick, but couldn’t find the net.
