Austin Allen was on the farm -- waiting, hoping, daydreaming -- for his phone to ring.It was late in the day. Oz was driving a full semi from the field to the grain bin when that call he so desperately wanted finally came.
Austin Allen played five years in total for the Huskers, including a redshirt season in 2017. Allen was selected as the Big Ten Tight End of the Year during his senior year in 2021, during which he collected 38 receptions for 602 yards, both Nebraska records for his position.

It was a 4th and 1. There was 1:07 remaining on the clock, game tied up. This was the Class B state semifinals, the winner taking a first-class trip to Memorial Stadium. A moment every Nebraska kid dreams about.

Chasing greatness

Wyatt Urkoski and Adi Fahrnbruch are both a bit quiet and reserved in the moments before that big match or jump. Inside, however, is anything but. The passion and desire to win oozing from both competitors is impossible to measure.
