High Plains will host an opening round playoff game, welcoming Lawrence-Nelson to Clarks Thursday for a 6 p.m. kick.

Lexi Ericksen whipped the field at Thursday’s C-4 district meet in Minden, winning the race with a time of 20:09.83, 30 seconds ahead of the field. The Lady Huskies finished as district-runner up as a team and are headed to state for an 11th consecutive year.

Evan Hermanson was one of three top 10 finishers for the Huskies at Thursday’s C-4 district meet, placing 10th and helping Aurora to its first district title since 2020.

Gage Friesen had another huge night on the ground for HPC in a 47-20 win over Lawrence-Nelson Friday, including 196 yards on 18 carries with three TDs. Friesen added 20 tackles defensively and a pick six.
