A quick start was all High Plains needed last week.  Coming off a few days off, the Storm looked fresh in a two-set win over Hampton at the Meridian triangular, 25-20 and 25-20. Both the Hawks and Storm lost to the hosts, Meridian.

One full month into the new school year enrollment totals are in with the four area districts reporting a combined increase of 28 students. Giltner Public Schools showed the biggest gain, up 32 students, while Aurora Public Schools had 12 more students enrolled and Hampton Public Schools six more.

The Hampton School Board approved its 2021-22 budget Monday, a $5.48 million fiscal plan which includes a $95,596 increase in tax asking and a 1.7 percent increase in the tax levy. Supt.

The weekday’s of the Nebraska State Fair were filled with a flurry of activity, as the fairgrounds welcomed Nebraska’s Largest Classroom to center stage.
Staff members from Aurora, Giltner, Hampton and Hampton Lutheran gathered for a luncheon Monday afternoon where they were served by a group of students from the four schools.

Teachers, administration and staff from Aurora, Giltner, Hampton and Hampton Lutheran gathered at the Plainsman Museum Monday afternoon for a celebration lunch to kick off the coming school year. Towards the end of the meal, Tina Larson, museum director shared words of thanks to those in attendance.

Through the united efforts of the Upper Big Blue Natural Resource District, Ducks Unlimited, Natural Resources Conservation Service, Nebraska Environmental Trust and the Rainwater Basin Joint Venture, Hamilton County will be gaining 39 acres of protected wetland.
