As the final seconds ticked away in one of the toughest situations for any athlete, Ethan Shaw never put his head down in defeat.

Aurora comes up short in Class B finals

A momentum shift began late in the first half and carried through the early stages of the third quarter to decide Friday's Class B final.  Elkhorn held Aurora out of the end zone to end the first half, keeping the game tied at 13.

Success has followed Cassidy Knust through every avenue she’s traveled athletically at Aurora.  Despite all of the success, however, there was only one sport she was interested in pursuing collegiately -- volleyball.  The Aurora senior made her college decision official Nov.

With the game and its season on the line, Aurora’s defensive lineup answered the call.  Two fourth quarter interceptions helped push the host Huskies past Plattsmouth 21-12 in the Class B semifinals Friday night, setting up a clash with Elkhorn in the finals.

Allen, Huskers tough out victory in home opener

Was it celebration or relief? Why couldn’t it be both? It was definitely both.  After the sweetest formation in football, Nebraska tight end Austin Allen turned around to see Luke McCaffrey, fresh off his first career collegiate start, and hugged it out.

A classic defensive effort from Aurora was the difference in taking the Huskies all the way.  Two fourth quarter interceptions helped solidify Aurora's 21-12 win over Plattsmouth at home Friday night in the Class B semifinals.

Huskies set to host Plattsmouth in Class B semis

Some may call it a matchup of destiny one game away from the big show.  No. 5 Aurora will host No. 8 Plattsmouth Friday night in the Class B semifinals with a trip to Memorial Stadium on the line.  The two teams have had to defeat higher seeds at one point or another to get to this point.

Mack Owens was a problem all night for Norris.  The Husky junior totaled 168 yards on 33 carries and accounted for all four Aurora touchdowns as the Huskies defeated Norris 28-21 Friday night in the Class B quarterfinals.
