On paper, it was Aurora’s best state championship run since 2005. The Huskies had five semifinalists, three finalists and two state champions.
The two wrestlers who didn’t come out on the right side of semifinal matches were Brekyn Papineau and Aaron Jividen. Nevertheless, their efforts were still rewarded.
Papineau ended his state run with a bronze medal at 195 while Jividen finished fourth at 285, giving the Huskies five medalists in all.
