But sports is the one constant,
the one diversion to help get us through,
to help take our minds off everything else,

Aurora's defensive pressure through the second half was evident on the floor and scoreboard.
The Lady Huskies held Kearney Catholic to 11 second half points during a 38-31 win at home Thursday night.
Aurora trailed for much of the first half and was down 20-17 at the break.

Hornets bitten by Bulldogs in conference tilt Friday

Giltner put Osceola in a position to work a bit harder for a win than they may have thought, at least for awhile.
The Hornets were tied with the No. 8 D-2 ranked Bulldogs after the first quarter, but Osceola was too much for Giltner to handle in a 51-35 loss Friday night.

Huskies lose nailbiters to Elkhorn North

The Aurora boys and girls basketball teams each had opportunities to win Saturday and were unsuccessful.
The Husky boys led late in the fourth quarter as the Wolves rallied to win 68-62 while the Lady Huskies couldn't finish a rally during a 46-36 defeat.

HPC competes in Cross County Invite

High Plains boasted several solid finishes on the mat Saturday in the Cross County Invite.
Freshman Wyatt Urkoski headlined a Storm effort of three medalists on the day, finishing third in the 138-division.

Hornets swept by Osceola

Giltner gave Osceola a fight early, but the Bulldogs pulled away before defeating the Hornets 51-37 Friday night.
Camden Humphrey had six points for the Hornets early as the game was tied at 11 after the first.
From there, though, Osceola scored 21 points in the second to lead 32-15 at the half.

Aurora competes on senior night

Aurora took to the mat at home for one last time during the regular season Thursday night, hosting Ord and St. Paul on senior night for a trio of wrestlers.
The Huskies ended the night with a 54-21 win over Ord, but lost a tight 39-37 dual to St. Paul later on.

Storm wrestlers finally compete on home mats

The Storm wrestling team competed in front of a home crowd for the first time this season last week, hosting a pair of conference schools in a triangular.
East Butler and Cross County/Osceola came to Clarks Jan. 5 for some midweek wrestling.

A critical second half run was more than enough for Aurora’s boys basketball team Friday night.
The Huskies used a 15-0 run through the third and fourth quarters to go from a one-possession lead to a double-digit advantage in a 51-37 win over Schuyler at home.
