Aurora Cooperative Juniors win two of three on the weekend

It was a busy weekend for the Aurora Cooperative Juniors squad, playing three games over the weekend while coming away with two wins.Aurora downed UBC 11-2 on the road Sunday and also defeated St. Paul at home Friday night, 11-2 with its lone loss coming Saturday against Grand Island, 9-1.

Aurora Cooperative Juniors split last week

The Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors team split a pair of games last week, moving its overall record to 11-5 midway through June.Aurora couldn’t find the mark late in an 8-5 loss at Mitchell Field to York June 16, but was able to grind out a 12-9 win at Central City June 17.

The Aurora Pinnacle Bank Post 42 Seniors team collected its first win of the summer Sunday, downing Doniphan-Trumbull on the road, 19-1.The season’s first win came on the heels of two other losses, falling to Gering 8-1 Thursday before a 16-1 loss at St. Paul Friday.

Aurora Coop Juniors find offensive rhythm

The Aurora Cooperative Post 42 Juniors team found home plate quite a bit last week.In five games played during a hectic four-day stretch, the AC Juniors team plated 60 runs as part of four wins, scoring 10 or more runs in each of those victories.

Olsen, Most set for 8-man HOF

Two former Hamilton County football stars are set for induction into the 2026 Nebraska Eight-Man Football Hall of Fame Class. Hampton’s Mark Olsen and Giltner’s Nate Most are two of the 15 total inductees of this year’s class.

Aurora’s Canon Allen and Collin Stolpe wrapped their high school athletic careers up with a win in Saturday’s 68th annual Shrine Bowl in Kearney, though both agreed the experience and lessons learned left a far more lasting impression than the game’s outcome.
