Unemployment claims drop by 7.2%

The Nebraska Department of Labor announced that there were 2,631 new regular unemployment claims filed last week, a decrease of 7.2 percent over the prior week when 2,838 claims were filed.

Man sentenced for dumping hazardous waste near Aurora

United States Attorney Joe Kelly announced that Edward Miller, age 44, formerly of Sidney, Neb., was recently sentenced by Senior United States District Judge Laurie Smith Camp to 33 months’ imprisonment for the disposal of hazardous waste without a permit near Aurora.
