County debates budget, motion to limit raises

In another lengthy round of budget discussion, the county commissioners took the beginning chunk of Monday’s meeting to discuss the proposed budget and tax asking while continuing to rethink moneysaving efforts.

Giltner Fire Dept. has new home

After many years of planning, months of construction and countless hours of anticipation, Giltner Fire and Rescue officially moved into its new home Aug. 12. Everything is up and running, including five bays for trucks and equipment, ample room for activities and an office for their chief.

City previews budget showing 4% increase

The Aurora City Council approved funding requests for two Grand Island-based family support services last week and briefly discussed city budget negotiations which are scheduled to be finalized within the next two weeks.

A Lincoln-based mental health and substance abuse services company is expanding its reach to Hamilton County with a new office opening in Aurora.
