Despite COVID, band plays on

Nothing seems to slow the Aurora High School marching band as they complete their week-long band camp in anticipation of the upcoming season. While the performances may look different and competitions have been canceled, director Dan Sodomka is optimistic as he looks to the future.

Bands on Bricks finale

Bands on the Bricks will wrap up its third year summer series with a 2020 finale Friday featuring local native Myles Jasnowski. The Aurora Chamber of Commerce coordinated event begins at 6 p.m. on the downtown square and will conclude at 9. Jasnowski will perform from 6 to 6:45 p.m.

One of the Plainsman Museum’s most recent donations comes from the best friend of late Hordville resident Elvert “Junior” Nelson and carries with it a vast amount of sentimentality and overall historica significance.
