Friday storm brings some wind damage

The National Weather Service in Hastings confirmed that a tornado touched down in Hamilton County at around 5:14 p.m. Friday. “A brief tornado formed on the southwestern flank of a supercell thunderstorm in southeastern Hamilton County just south of Interstate 80,” NWS reported.

60 Years Ago – 1960 Cheryl Ann Jaeke, this year’s Miss Nebraska, will crown the King and Queen of the Hamilton County Fair at the Coronation Pageant which begins Monday evening, Aug. 22, at 8 p.m. Miss Jaeke is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A. A. Jaeke of Shelton and is a granddaughter of Mrs.
