A 10-year effort to plan and build the Prairie Plains Resource Institute’s new education center on the edge of Gjerloff Prairie is making major progress this summer. In recent weeks, an elevator was installed, which is a required element in order to allow easy access to all levels of the facility.

Hampton Cruise Night back for 19th year

A nearly 20-year tradition will return to Hampton Friday with the return of the TDLC Cruise Night. Now in its 19th year, the event will feature classic cars, a free meal and some good oldfashioned hometown hospitality, as designed by event organizer Roger Bamesberger.

‘Pack ‘em Back to School’ preps students for new year

As the beginning of the school year draws closer, area churches have gathered together to make sure all students have the supplies they need. The “Pack ‘em Back to School” program isn’t new to Aurora and has been handled for a number of years by the Messiah Lutheran Church.

Fun Fly draws RC pilots to Aurora

St. Mary’s, St. Joseph’s hold First Communion

First Holy Communion, usually celebrated in 2nd grade, was held on Sunday for Hamilton County Catholic students from St. Mary's, Aurora, and St. Joseph's, Giltner. The students are now in 3rd grade, as the ceremony was postponed on April 5 because of the pandemic.
