■ Start of in-school year session going well for Hornets
Giltner’s school board approved several board policies as well as its student handbook during its regular meeting Monday night.
Among the changes in the GPS student handbook for 2020-21 were a couple COVID-19 related items, which clarified that face coverings for students are not required, but strongly encouraged, which was decided upon at July’s meeting.
The handbook also states that students will be required to attend in-person classes unless it is deemed necessary by medical diagnosis to receive services outside the school building.
