Lexington rallies past Aurora in five

Aurora found themselves in another five-set tussle Tuesday night, but this one had a different ending.  The Lady Huskies looked to be in control, but couldn't finish the deal in a five-set loss to Lexington, 14-25, 25-22, 25-23, 22-25 and 15-13 at home.

Scholarship honors Kevin Henderson

Lady Hornets pick up big win on championship night

On a night where Giltner honored its champions, the current Hornet volleyball team rose to the challenge.  After a slow start, Giltner charged ahead to defeat conference foe Nebraska Lutheran in four, 22-25, 25-16, 25-16 and 25-20 Thursday night.

A huge win with postseason implications was one of Aurora’s highlights last week.  The Lady Huskies went into a tough road environment Thursday, picking up a 13-8 win over Columbus Lakeview thanks to Rylee Olsen’s big bat.

Giltner’s offensive game plan sure wasn’t complicated, but it certainly was effective.  Behind a potent rushing attack, the Hornets earned its first win of the season, 59-20 over Nebraska Lutheran on Homecoming night.

Friday night roundup week 5

Week five of the high school football season was easily the best for Hamilton County teams in 2021 to date.  Three of the four teams picked up wins, including a first win for Giltner on Homecoming night.

Aurora attack outlasts GINW

Another classic Aurora-Grand Island Northwest dual went down to the wire.  With a big hand from Lexi Jones, Aurora outlasted GINW in five, 25-21, 23-21, 25-23, 15-25 and 15-11 Tuesday night. The Aurora junior netted 25 kills in the five-set win, her best of the season by seven.
