Huskies win on opening night

Body

Fresh off the football field, the Aurora boys basketball team had a few rough patches but found a groove in the second half.

Behind Tate Nachtigal's 19 points, the Huskies earned its first win of the season with a 45-33 win over Adams Central Thursday night to open the 2021-22 season.

Scoring was at a premium early with Aurora up 17-11 after 10 points from Nachtigal.

However, once Aurora established a lead, the Huskies never looked back.

On the girls side, though, it was Adams Central running away with a 51-28 win.

The Lady Huskies trailed 21-11 at the half and was never able to get back within single digits in the second half.

Aurora was led in scoring by Rylee Olsen's nine.

The Huskies are back at home Friday night against Wahoo.
