Let's try something different.

Aurora's volleyball team opened up the 2022 volleyball season in one of the state's best triangular matchups, taking on Wahoo and Norris in Wahoo.

The Lady Huskies picked up a three-set win over Wahoo in the opener, 25-19, 24-26 and 25-18 before falling to Norris, 25-23 and 25-12.

Here's a small sampling of what I learned from the cheap seats.

"Lexi Jones hits the ball really hard."

"Reagan Ashby's serve is absolutely disgusting. The movement on that thing is a helpless feeling, and I'm not out there."

"Kasey Schuster just makes all the right plays. Even on her birthday."

"Whoa. Where the heck did Kehlanee Bengtson come from?! She's swatting flies out there!"

"Aleah Vinkenberg is a brick wall at the net."

"I need a nickname for the duo of Delaney Nachtigal and Denae Nachtigal. They're going to make a ton of plays together."

"Aurora wasn't in any preseason rankings? That seems like a gross oversight."

"A win over Wahoo in any sport is a big deal."

"Norris is tall. And tough. And swings for the fences."

Aurora fought off three game points on more than one occasion. There's no quit in these ladies."

"This is going to be a fun fall season."
