The Aurora cross country boys had their hands full at the Charlie Thorell Invite in Seward Thursday where a young Husky squad competed without its No. 1 runner on slick, hilly terrain. The end result was a valuable learning experience for a Husky team that finished 12th in a 14-team field.

It was an uphill battle from the start Friday, literally and figuratively, for Aurora’s girls cross country team.  After a crash near the start involving Aurora’s Elena Kuehner, the race restarted and the Lady Huskies fought through adversity until the finish line.

Huskies take fifth in razor-close Class C race

The competition in the Class C boys cross country race was five teams deep, and that showed up in the team tally at the end.  Milford ended the chilly Friday afternoon at Kearney Country Club on top of Class C while the top five teams were separated by just 17 points.

Lady Huskies take runner-up at district meet in Minden

The Aurora girls cross country team walked away as runner-ups at the C-4 District Meet in Minden Thursday. Only five points separated the runners from the top position as they secured their place at  Friday’s state competition in Kearney.

Riley snags runner-up at Central City

The Aurora boys cross country team ran at the Central City Invite Thursday where the team walked away with a third-place win and a runner-up medal for senior Dylan Riley.
