Aurora seniors complete ‘Apply to College Week’

Aurora High School was a-buzz with thoughts of the future last week, thanks to an “Apply to College Week” initiative via the counseling office.

Tri-Fit expands fitness offerings

Ten months after opening the doors at their new Tri-Fit business venture on K Street, owners Amy and Nick Owens announced major plans this week to add staff and class offerings to include more yoga and high-energy kickboxing.

Aurora firefighters battle two fires Thursday

Firefighters with the Aurora Fire Department had two calls on Thursday, one to a ditch fire on 11 and M Roads at around 2:30 p.m., and a field fire south of the I-80 Hampton exit at around 5 p.m.

Aurora’s Senior Night efforts featured a hot start and ferocious rally which came up a run short.  The Lady Huskies scored two runs in the seventh, but couldn’t make up the difference in a 6-5 loss to Columbus Lakeview at home Thursday on a brisk night for softball.

Local ambulances gain SCBA gear

The Aurora Volunteer Fire Department personnel transferred two self-contained breathing apparatuses to the ambulances run by Emergency Medical Services volunteers housed at the EMS headquarters as of last week.
