MCHI takes masks off

Memorial Community Health, Inc. administrators gave two big announcements this week in the fight against COVID-19.  First, healthcare providers and visitors at MCHI have the choice to go maskless since Oct. 3 after 2-1/2 years of a mask mandate.

Lady Huskies medal four at district cross country

Aurora’s girls cross country squad had four medalists bolting their way to the top 15, making for a strong finish for the Lady Huskies at the C-4 District championships near Hastings.  The Lady Huskies also took the runner-up position in total team scores, finishing behind Minden, 23 to 28.

Area schools compete in district land judging contest

Three area schools competed Oct. 5 in the District Land Judging contest, hosted just outside of Marquette, with a pair of teams pushing forward and earning a chance to compete at the state level Wednesday. This was no usual district competition either, according to area ag teachers.

Teamwork bests field fire south of Aurora

More than a handful of “red flag” fire weather warnings and watches have been enacted over the past week in and around Hamilton County.  These warnings, according to information released by the National Weather Service Hastings office, were issued due to low relative humidity and high winds.

The Aurora girls golf season came to a close in Grand Island last week, as the Lady Huskies ended the 2022 campaign with a sixth place team finish in the B-3 District golf tournament at Jackrabbit Run.

Aurora upends Seward, Hastings

Aurora’s volleyball team has found a new gear as the matches in the coming weeks continue to increase with importance.  The Lady Huskies extended its win streak to four games after a four-set win on the road at Hastings Thursday, 25-12, 23-25, 25-22 and 25-16.
