A 2020 ode to Big Red

The year 2020 was quite a time, and one best left far behind, it suffered in its health, its politics, and just being kind. But sports is the one constant, the one diversion to help get us through, to help take our minds off everything else, to take away the 8-5 blue.

Still all these years later, shopping lessons continue

It’s getting more difficult to conduct a routine of our daily life. This COVID-19 thing has kept us confined to the point we’ve viewed most of old GUNSMOKE TV programs and seems to have moved beyond to where we have now seen reruns of reruns. If that isn’t bad enough a new hurdle has surfaced.

Turning the page

America turned the page to a new chapter in its history last week, a political transition unlike any before it. A week after the changing of the guard, the temperature has been lowered considerably in Washington, which comes as welcome relief to a nation pushed dangerously close to the brink.

Area volleyball teams highlight top 10 list

The year 2020 had plenty of bad memories, unlucky situations and no shortage of bad mojo to go around.  That’s not what we’re here for today, though. There were plenty of games and moments throughout the 2020 calendar year that made our eyebrows raise, jaws drop and hearts race.

Lightbulb goes off a little late in gas episode

You readers should be aware this column is being written under duress, or using another term, “under the threat of blackmail.” In this column I’ve elected to expose my blackmailer and the secret she threatened to reveal.
