The highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America is that of Eagle Scout. Since its creation in 1911 only four percent of scouts have earned this rank and joining them will be Colin Kennedy of Troop 28 in Aurora.

Fair: As fairs wrapped up in the area, in my opinion, it was a great way to cap off the summer for the youth. So much has been taken away from them and I really appreciate Ag Societies working hard with Extension staff to give the youth an opportunity to showcase their projects!

Crop Update: Grateful to see how corn ears in wind damaged fields were able to expand and expose silks to pollen! Noticing on the primary ear node one normal ear and another one to two small ears on the same node in some hybrids-more common this year than I’ve noticed before.

Detasslers take to local fields, despite COVID threat

As the corn grows taller and the days get hotter a familiar sight can be found in the fields surrounding Hamilton County -- detasselers. Not even a pandemic can stop these students from working to do their part in the cycle of production.
