Rathje family farm recognized for 118 years

With the induction of Jim and Nancy Rathje of Phillips, another Hamilton County farm family has joined the ranks of honor, earning the prestigious Aksarben Pioneer Farm award for 100-plus years of farm ownership.

Together each year the Nebraska Farm Bureau, the Aksarben Foundation and the Nebraska Association of Fair Managers honor families across the state for their long-standing dedication to the trade -- and reaching the “incredible milestone of owning at least 40 acres of farmland within one family for 100 or 150 years.”
