Aurora fourth graders learn all about food, fuel, fiber
Aurora fourth graders spent quality time Oct. 8 at the fairgrounds, getting up close and personal with the agriculture industry.
Out of four sessions, one included a popcorn presentation by Mariah Newmyer (Food, Nutrition and Health Extension Educator), another was a combine harvester walkthrough via AKRS, as well as a grain presentation by the Aurora Coop and a visit by the Husker Beef Lab.
“What is happening today is there are four sessions that we bring in professionals to teach that are related to agriculture,” said Nebraska Extension Educator Tammy Stuhr. “We want them to know where their food, fuel and fiber comes from.”
