Each and every family has its own way to get together, stay close and grow together. For the Badura family, the best way to bond has always been -- and continues to be -- golf.  As dreamy as their favorite “sunset rounds,” so is the story of how family heads Jennifer and Craig got together.

Success has followed Cassidy Knust through every avenue she’s traveled athletically at Aurora.  Despite all of the success, however, there was only one sport she was interested in pursuing collegiately -- volleyball.  The Aurora senior made her college decision official Nov.

With the game and its season on the line, Aurora’s defensive lineup answered the call.  Two fourth quarter interceptions helped push the host Huskies past Plattsmouth 21-12 in the Class B semifinals Friday night, setting up a clash with Elkhorn in the finals.

Huskies set to host Plattsmouth in Class B semis

Some may call it a matchup of destiny one game away from the big show.  No. 5 Aurora will host No. 8 Plattsmouth Friday night in the Class B semifinals with a trip to Memorial Stadium on the line.  The two teams have had to defeat higher seeds at one point or another to get to this point.

The Huskies face a familiar foe in Friday’s opening round of the Class B football playoffs, with Scottsbluff coming to town hoping to flip the script on a Sept. 11 battle which Aurora won 36-14.

It was an uphill battle from the start Friday, literally and figuratively, for Aurora’s girls cross country team.  After a crash near the start involving Aurora’s Elena Kuehner, the race restarted and the Lady Huskies fought through adversity until the finish line.

Huskies take fifth in razor-close Class C race

The competition in the Class C boys cross country race was five teams deep, and that showed up in the team tally at the end.  Milford ended the chilly Friday afternoon at Kearney Country Club on top of Class C while the top five teams were separated by just 17 points.
