4R speaks on health ed standards updates

Much like school boards across the state, the Aurora Public Schools Board of Education faced conversation surrounding Nebraska’s proposed health education standards at Monday afternoon’s meeting.

On more routine back-to-school board meeting topics, the 4R board briefly discussed the upcoming third round of ESSER funding, in which the Aurora school district would be receiving $1,068,000.  This set of funds “are being handled differently” than the last two, Supt.

New 4R website, mobile app up and running

Visitors to the Aurora Public Schools website may find it looking a little different than it has in years past. The district did in fact approve this upgrade and with it tackled a whole new approach to communication, complete with a mobile app.

The view at the finish line is unlike any other in sports. For those competing in Unified Track and Field, that idea is not only reinforced, but possibly unmatched.   There isn’t a frown or growl to be had. Surely no disappointment, either.

Huskies raise the bar with 10-win soccer season

A memorable boys soccer season came to an end Monday as the Huskies fell to Grand Island Northwest 3-0 in B-7 District play. The loss ends Aurora’s season at 10-8, going down in Husky history as the first boys soccer team to post a winning record.

Huskies finish 4th as conference hosts

A solid start to the Central Conference tournament was offset by a few bumps in the road.  The Huskies won its opening round matchup to make the semifinals, but lost matches to York and Schuyler to finish fourth in a weekend tournament played in Aurora.

Lady Huskies finish 3rd in conference tourney

What a weekend for Ellie Hutsell and her soccer teammates.  The Aurora junior tallied seven goals during the Central Conference tournament played at Streeter Park.

Home cooking puts Huskies back on track

The Aurora boys soccer team got back on track with three games in a four-day stretch, winning two of the three.  The Huskies dropped a 4-0 game to Kearney Catholic April 6 before defeating Crete 2-1 Thursday and York 3-2 in overtime for a makeup game.
