Visitors to the Aurora Public Schools website may find it looking a little different than it has in years past. The district did in fact approve this upgrade and with it tackled a whole new approach to communication, complete with a mobile app.
“So it’s not just a new website, it’s really a communications project,” said 4R Technology Director Robb Nachtigal. “Our goal was to approach communications a little differently for the district as a whole and not just look at it from a website standpoint.”
The total ticket price for this project, Nachtigal estimated, was around $10,000.
They’ve had trouble maintaining and staying on top of a website like the one they had, he admitted, which is do mostly to the fact that Aurora -- much like other school district’s its size -- does not have a dedicated staff to take care of it.
“So we decided we needed to take a simpler approach to communicate differently, not trying to build out this elaborate website,” he said. “And so that’s really how it came about.”
