She has a smile more infectious than any disease and a competitive spirit to move any mountain. Aurora’s first-ever girls wrestling finalist in the history books is a foreign exchange student from Norway, just giving the sport of wrestling a try for the fun of it. Crazy, right?

Tia Teigre continues to make history for the Aurora wrestling team. The Aurora foreign exchange student from Norway is the Lady Huskies' first-ever finalist at the NSAA girls state wrestling championships.

Tiffany Senff won two matches Friday afternoon to punch a ticket to the semifinals.

A great start to the NSAA state wrestling championships turned the other direction by the end of the evening for High Plains. The Storm went a perfect 4-for-4 in the opening round of the tournament, but only one would win their quarterfinal matchup.

Aurora's Aaron Jividen won an ultimate tiebreaker in the quarterfinals Thursday to keep his undefeated season alive.

Aurora put three wrestlers into Friday night's semifinal round after Thursday's opening rounds of the Class B NSAA state wrestling championships. Brekyn Papineau, Mack Owens and Aaron Jividen all earned medal positions with their efforts Thursday, each winning a pair of matchups.

HPC senior Javier Marino will make his third trip to the state championships this week after a runner-up effort at districts.

Kyle Ediger never let the emotions of a game get too high or too low. In front of a packed house Friday night, though, the Hampton grad, teacher and coach surely had a little extra juice. It still makes no sense. It’s hard to wrap your head around.

Aurora will compete in Class C-1 for the next NSAA two-year cycle.
