Devin Otto fans 16 in 14-7 win over Twin River last week

Body

Devin Otto couldn’t keep track of his strikeout total on the mound with both of his fingers. He needed most of his toes, too.
Otto fanned 16 batters during Aurora Post 42 Pinnacle Bank Seniors’ 14-7 win at Twin River May 31 in six innings of relief work.
In four of those six innings of work, Otto recorded all three outs via strikeout. Aurora coach Jeremy Burgener was more than pleased with Otto’s performance on the mound, noting his abiltiy to keep Twin River guessing at the plate.
“He just threw strikes,” the coach said. “He was constantly in the zone with strike one so he didn’t have a come back with a fastball being down in the count. It kept Twin River off balance all night.”
It didn’t start out that way, though.
Twin River blasted the Pinnacle Bank Seniors early in the game, scoring four runs in the first inning and three more in the second just before Otto’s arrival to the mound.
Aurora started the game with the lead by plating two runs in the first with Jayson Havens scoring on a wild pitch before Connor Smith drove in Wyatt James on a single back up the middle.
