Marcia Galusha

Marcia Lee Galusha, 67, of Hastings, died December 20, 2020, at home in Hastings. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at l1 a.m. at Apfel Funeral Home in Grand Island with Pastor Bev Hieb officiating. There will be no visitation or burial.

Irene Strong

Vyrl Irene (Campbell) Strong was born on the family farm south of Giltner on Dec. 8, 1920. She passed away on Dec. 28, 2020 at the age of 100.  A memorial service will be held at the First Christian Church in Aurora at a later date. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Jan.

Matthew Weedin

Matthew Frederick Weedin of Lincoln passed away Dec. 24, 2020 at the young age of 38. Visitation will 9-9 p.m. with family present from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Butherus, Maser & Love Funeral Home in Lincoln and funeral service will Thursday at 10 a.m.

Joe Ford

Johny Joe Ford, son of Verle Leslie and Helen Edith (Fust) Ford was born on Sept. 3, 1944 in Orient, Iowa. He received his education from Iowa State University graduating in 1966 with a bachelors of animal science. He served in the United States Army from 1967-1968.

Alice Burling

Alice Annette Burling, 85, of Aurora passed away Dec. 22, 2020. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 2 at the Aurora United Methodist Church. Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate. Private family inurnment will take place at the Kenesaw Cemetery.

Sharon Jemison

Sharon Jemison, age 78, of Giltner, passed away on Sunday, December 20, 2020, at Mary Lanning Hospital in Hastings. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, December 23 at the Chapel of Higby-McQuiston Mortuary in Aurora.  Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate.

Dennis Rich

Dennis Rich, age 62, of Aurora, passed away on Friday, December 18, 2020, at UNMC in Omaha. Dennis’s wishes were to be cremated.  For everyone’s safety, the family will hold a memorial service at a future date.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
