Aurora's wrestling team pushed 10 wrestlers through the finals in both the boys and girls brackets.
Seven of those won gold.
The Husky boys finished runner-up while the girls team finished third at Saturday's Central Conference meet held at Columbus Lakeview.

Hixson retires as Aurora volleyball coach

Longtime Aurora volleyball coach Lois Hixson has decided to put her clipboard away for good.
Hixson, who has spent the previous 16 seasons as the head coach of the Aurora volleyball team has decided to step away from coaching, the school announced through a press release Thursday.

The Aurora junior scrambled for a third period pinfall victory as part of Aurora's dual matchup at Columbus Lakeview Thursday, an event the Vikings won 40-34.

Jividen earns 100th win at Platteview

Aaron Jividen doesn't smile a lot, but he let out a small one when he marked off a career milestone Friday.
The Aurora senior picked up his 100th career victory in his opening round matchup at Platteview, on his way to a first place effort in the event at heavyweight.

Owens inks with South Dakota

Mack Owens has been committed to South Dakota since mid-August. His decision never wavered and was made official Wednesday.
Owens signed his letter of intent to continue his academic and football career at South Dakota and join the Coyote program as an inside linebacker on early signing day.

The Aurora girls basketball team earned its first win of the season Friday night in comeback fashion.
Denae Nachtigal scored all 12 of her team-high points in the second half as Aurora picked up a 39-33 win at home.

Lady Huskies compete at first girls event

For the first time in school history, a crop of Aurora girls wrestlers competed at Columbus Lakeview Friday, starting a new tradition at AHS.
The Lady Huskies finished second in the team race behind the host Lakeview Vikings in a five-team tournament.

Fresh off the football field, the Aurora boys basketball team had a few rough patches but found a groove in the second half.
Behind Tate Nachtigal's 19 points, the Huskies earned its first win of the season with a 45-33 win over Adams Central Thursday night to open the 2021-22 season.

Allen named Big Ten tight end of the year

Christmas Free Shop event back for a 2nd year
Based on the response to last year’s debut Free Shop event in Aurora, co-organizer Vicki Hill said the decision to proceed with a second annual event in 2021 was an easy one.
“We pretty much made the decision that day that we’ll do it again,” Hill said.
