Linda Elaine Alberts was a generous and courageous wife, mother, grandmother, and sister. She left this world on February 17, 2021 at the age of 77, with her daughters by her side.  No local services will be held at this time.

Steven Lowell Fenster of Lincoln passed away suddenly in his home on February 12, 2021. Steve earned a B.S. in Business Administration from the University of Nebraska at Kearney.

James "Jim" Hilligas

James “Jim” M.W. Hilligas, 81, of Grand Island passed away on Friday, February 12, 2021. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, February 23, at Christ Lutheran Church, 1300 N. Grand Island Ave., Grand Island.  Reverend Tom Schneider is the officiant.

Brent Shenk

Brent Allen Shenk, 59, of Clarks, passed away at his home.  Memorial services will be on Thursday, February, 18, 2021 at 10:30 a.m. at the First Baptist Church in Hordville with Pastor Daniel Bear offciating.   Memorials are suggested to the family to be designated later.

Bill Gage

Bill Gage, age 81, of Aurora passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2021 at V.A. Medical Center in Grand Island. Bill’s wishes were to be cremated.  A Memorial Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 18 at the Faith Community Church. Pastor Bob Gannon will officiate.

Lyndon Keyes

Lyndon Lowell Keyes of Richmond, IL passed away at his home after suffering a heart attack on January 26, 2021. He was born April 20, 1960 in York, to Lowell and R’Lou Keyes. During his youth in Aurora, Lyndon, a Boy Scout, eventually became an Eagle Scout.

Thomas C. Kirkelie

Thomas C. Kirkelie, 58, passed away December 19, 2020 at Corpus Christi, Texas. A memorial wake will be held at the American Legion Hall 491 in Granbury, Texas on Saturday, Feb. 20, 2021 at 1 p.m. Tom was born April 16, 1962 at Fairchild Air Force Base in Spokane, Wash.

Laurie "LaRie" Goertzen

Laurie “LaRie” Goertzen, age 85, of Aurora, passed away on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at Memorial Hospital. A Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, February 10 at the Aurora United Methodist Church.  Rev. Michelle Reed will officiate.  Interment will be at the Aurora Cemetery.

Larry Van Bibber

Larry Van Bibber, age 82, of Aurora, died Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2021 in Grand Island. Larry was born on Oct. 16, 1938, in Grand Island. On May 1, 1987, he married Jean Van Bibber. Larry is survived by his wife, Jean of Aurora; three children; 10 grandchildren; many cousins and friends.

Shawna Michalski-Wengler

Shawna Michalski-Wengler, age 46, of Aurora, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, February 2, 2021, at her home. Shawna’s wishes were to be cremated.  The family will hold a celebration of life at a future date.  Higby-McQuiston Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
