Jerry Bartley, age 65, of Aurora, passed away on Wednesday, May 26, 2021 at CHI Health-St. Francis in Grand Island.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, June 2 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Aurora. Rev. Don Buhrman will be the Celebrant. Burial will be in Aurora Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at St. Mary’s Catholic Church. A Rosary service will be at 7 p.m., following the visitation. Memorials may be made to the family to designate at a later date. Jerald Dee Bartley, was the youngest of eight children born to Loland and Sarah (Williams) Bartley at Red Cloud, on December 11, 1955 and passed away at Grand Island, on May 26, 2021 at the age of 65.
At a very young age Jerry’s family moved to Formoso, Kansas. After the death of his father in 1960, the family moved to Loup City.  Jerry attended Loup City Schools and later obtained his G.E.D.
Jerry married Julie Garcia on May 16, 1987 at a park in Aurora.  They had two children, Ryan and Karissa.  Jerry began working for Bonnavilla in May 1989, his career continued there for 32 years, until his health prevented him from working.  Jerry and Julie had just celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary.
He was an avid Nebraska Husker fan.  Jerry loved family get-togethers, be at holidays, or reunions with extended family.  He was a very proud grandpa
He was preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law and father-in-law Estella and Raymond Garcia; sister, Marjorie Michalek, sister and brother-in-law Twila and Bernard Beydler, brother and sister-in-law Bill and Lorraine Bartley, brother Bob Bartley, sister-in-law Yolanda Garcia, brother-in-law, Jesse Garcia, nephews Darral Jr, Patrick and Terry Bartley and Gary Beydler.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Julie of Aurora; two children, Ryan (Kristin) Bartley of Omaha and Karissa Renschleir of Aurora; 2 grandchildren, Rhett and Harper; two brothers, Darral ( Patty) Bartley of Ravenna and Allen (Donna) Bartley of Formoso, KS and sister, Sharon (Larry) Kaslon of Loup City; brothers-in-law, John Michalek of South Dakota, Richard (Deb) Garcia of Parkville, MO, Robert Garcia of Sacramento, CA and Mark Garcia of Johnstown, Colorado; sisters-in-law, Kay Bartley of Hastings and Becky Eshbaugh of Knoxville, TN; step-sisters in-law, Rachel Cordova and Teresa (Mike) Madden all of Aurora; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
