Wind-damaged Corn: The evening/early morning hours of July 8-9 caused quite a bit of damage to corn fields for some of you reading this. It’s always hard to see crop damage. For field corn, it came at a critical time prior to pollination.

In 2002 the emerald ash borer (EAB), a beetle native to Asia was find in Detroit, Mich. Since then it has spread to 25 states including Nebraska. Most recently this invasive species was found in Kearney.

Beekeepers Association abuzz with new president

The Nebraska Beekeepers Association has welcomed its new president, Megan Vetter. She joins vice president Brian Nilson on the board of directors to help support the state’s beekeepers.
