Lady Huskies finish strong at Central City Invite

The Lady Husky runners found themselves in a familiar spot, again finishing runner-up at the Central City Invite on the Valley View Golf Course Thursday.

Central City edges Lady Huskies, 2-0

Aurora and Class C No. 7 Central City made quick work of its Thursday night matchup.  With the threat of rain and two dominant pitchers, the Huskies and Bison completed its seven-inning battle in a shade under 90 minutes as Central City came out ahead on its home field, 2-0.

Aurora’s volleyball team waited nearly two full weeks for its first home game and sure made the most of the opportunity.  With a loud environment, displaying its new uniforms and fresh new paint on the court, the Lady Huskies swept Holdrege Sept. 6, 25-16, 25-13 and 25-14.

Eva’s lucky 13 Eva Fahrnbruch has the golden arm.  The Aurora senior was masterful on the mound in two games last week, collecting 26 strikeouts -- 13 in each game -- as Aurora picked up two victories.  The Lady Huskies picked up an 8-0 win at Centennial Aug.
