Lady Huskies grind out win over Gross

Aurora’s girls basketball team finished the 2022 calendar year on a high note, picking up its second win of the season by holding on for a 41-39 win over Omaha Gross in the consolation round of the Blair Holiday Tournament Friday.

Husky wrestlers end 2022 with dual against Lakeview

For the second time in as many duals, Aurora hosted a Central Conference opponent to end the 2022 calendar year.  The Huskies welcomed Columbus Lakeview to town on an icy Thursday afternoon as the Vikings cruised to a 54-30 dual victory.

The Lady Huskies had a tall task on their hands Dec. 20, literally and figuratively, taking on a salty Norris team which used its height to full advantage in a 52-11 win on Aurora’s home court.

Lady Husky wrestlers edge Northwest in home dual

Aurora’s girls wrestling team finished out its schedule before the holiday break with a merry good time. The Lady Huskies won three of the five contested matchup and held a slight edge in the team dual, defeating GINW 37-36 at home Dec. 20.

A second place winner this year in the Hampton Christmas decorating contest, Rusty enjoys the work and community appreciation that comes with his decorations.

A good crop of little Huskies was in the crowd Saturday afternoon and saw Kasey Schuster make a play any coach would gush over.  While at the free throw line and a chance to ice the game, Schuster missed both foul shots.

Aurora battles Beatrice in first home game of season

For a second weekend in a row, Aurora was dealt a tough hand with its two opponents on the slate.  The Lady Huskies kept it close for some time against Columbus Lakeview Friday, but couldn’t keep pace through a 47-31 loss before similar issues at home Saturday against Beatrice, losing 66-36.

After the slowest of slow starts offensively, the Huskies kept things interesting in the second half against a grinder Beatrice squad.

Danish exchange student makes Aurora her second home

Aurora High School senior and foreign exchange student Patricia Paranabas has made herself at home amongst the Huskies, despite being a long way from home. The adjustment from Denmark to small-town Aurora, Nebraska, was a big step for the 16-year-old.
