The Aurora boys cross country team ran against a wide field of teams across multiple classes on Thursday at Concordia University in Seward and went on to have a pair of medalists in Minden Saturday.
The varsity team ran consistently with its Grand Island race a week ago, according to coach Tony Sigler, who wants to see success in training translate to success on the course.
“Varsity as a whole needs to move up,” he said. “A few of them have been practicing very well, but just haven’t been able to translate that to a meet, which can be frustrating for them.”
Lucas Gautier once again took the lead among the Huskies in 18th place with a time of 17:46 at Seward, with Sigler indicating he is close to a break-through.
